The striped wall on the left was an existing element of the recent refurbishment of The Hub at Ty Hafan. We were asked to help bring some child friendly fun to the space and so we ran the colours from the stripes around the corner and wove them into
The design was applied using a combination of vinyl wallpaper on the walls and hand cut vinyls on the shutter
The existing stripes felt extremely static but the addition of the wave injects energy and flow to the space
A glass circle over the sun provides a practical surface for staff to write daily menus or messages to children and families

When the shutter is up the design frames the hatch
The existing wooden tree structure had also been installed during the recent refurbishment. We were tasked with giving it more life and colour
Butterflies are one of the hospices chosen motifs and so we drew up a selection of designs and along with the gradient leaves they were printed and cut from Ezobord - a light, sustainable, acoustic material made from recycled plastic bottles
Once attached to the wooden structure they create a colourful focal point for children - especially important for those who use wheelchairs that support them in a prone position
The holes in the branches are spaces to hang artwork created by the children and we look forward to seeing their displays which will no doubt bring extra joy and life to the space

To make the space more welcoming and comfortable we supplied custom window cushions, scatter cushions and curtains. Chosen by Ty Hafan staff, the sustainable healthcare fabrics are from our Patternistas for Panaz collection
